BBB Industries Response to USMCA Rapid Response Inquiry
BBB fully supports our employees’ rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining. Respect for our workers' safety and well-being is one of our core company values and a priority in all we do.
In fact, as a long-standing, North American sustainable manufacturer having extensive operations in Mexico for decades, we have received numerous special recognition awards from various Mexican government constituencies and community organizations before, during and after the global pandemic for many of our efforts to provide a quality workplace.
As with other manufacturers, BBB Industries' role is very limited in the process to ensure our workers have the legitimate representation of their choice in their collective bargaining efforts. The union legitimization process itself is supervised by the Mexican government and other witnesses, including BBB Industries. Nonetheless, we understand and value our workers and their choice of representation, and as such support the USMCA rapid response process which we believe will demonstrate that all procedures were properly followed.
We are however very concerned as to whether special interest groups are using the USMCA mechanism to target the automotive sector and undermine the union representation that our workers have lawfully chosen in favor of one with a political agenda that fails to recognize and protect our worker’s rights and choices.

BBB apoya plenamente a nuestros empleados’ derechos de libertad de asociación y negociación colectiva. El respeto por la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros trabajadores es uno de los valores fundamentales de nuestra empresa y una prioridad en todo lo que hacemos.
De hecho, como un fabricante sostenible norteamericano de larga data con amplias operaciones en México durante décadas, hemos recibido numerosos premios de reconocimiento especial de varios grupos del gobierno mexicano y organizaciones comunitarias antes, durante y después de la pandemia mundial por muchos de nuestros esfuerzos para proporcionar un lugar de trabajo de calidad.
Al igual que con otros fabricantes, el papel de BBB Industries es muy limitado en el proceso de garantizar que nuestros trabajadores tengan la representación legítima de su elección en sus esfuerzos de negociación colectiva. El proceso de legitimación sindical en sí es supervisado por el gobierno mexicano y otros testigos, incluida BBB Industries. No obstante, entendemos y valoramos a nuestros trabajadores y su elección de representación y, como tal, apoyamos el proceso de respuesta rápida de USMCA que creemos demostrará que todos los procedimientos se siguieron correctamente.
Sin embargo, nos preocupa mucho si los grupos de intereses especiales están utilizando el mecanismo del T-MEC para apuntar al sector automotriz y socavar la representación sindical que nuestros trabajadores han elegido legalmente a favor de una con una agenda política que no reconoce ni protege los derechos de nuestros trabajadores y opciones
