Mark Nugent
Chief Sustainability Officer & EVP – Strategy
Mark Nugent is BBB’s Chief Sustainability Officer & EVP of strategy, reporting to CEO, Duncan Gillis.
Mark’s areas of responsibility include strategy, sustainability, and communications. He leads the continuous company-wide development and execution of strategy and strategic initiatives. Mark is also responsible for sustainability – expanding on BBB’s carbon neutral legacy to take the company into the next phase of its sustainability journey. Mark also manages BBB’s communications team.
Mark has over two decades of experience including leadership roles in finance, strategy, M&A, business development, product planning, and sustainability. His experience has primarily been in the technology, industrials, and automotive space. He has led and built global teams and delivered value to internal and external customers by taking a partnership approach and identifying and executing growth and value creation opportunities.
Before BBB, Mark held roles at Fortune 200 companies, including Comcast NBC Universal, Cummins Inc., and Intel Corporation. He spent over a decade at Cummins in global leadership roles in aftermarket, emissions, and corporate functions, While at Cummins, Mark developed and launched remanufactured products, including engine components, fuel systems, turbochargers, after-treatment systems, and electronics in North and South America, Asia, and the Middle East. He also held corporate leadership roles where he supported M&A, joint ventures, divestitures, and strategy activities. Mark began his career as a civil engineer in Los Angeles.
Mark holds a degree in civil and environmental engineering and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Brigham Young University and completed executive education at Chicago Booth. He is a certified 6 Sigma Green Belt and 6 Sigma Sponsor.
